HEALTHCARE: LAST CHANCE
1. National Health Insurance (NHI) is upon us. It is pure ANC/ communist/ collectivist folly and the biggest jackpot ever for looters.
2. NHI means that state healthcare will be expanded, state health budgets will increase exponentially, taxes will go up, yet more doctors and specialists will emigrate and private healthcare will gradually be phased out.
3. This election is our last chance to say unequivocally that
• we do NOT want more state healthcare,
• we do NOT want our hard earned tax money to be wasted on irregular tenders and maladministration at the Department of Health and
• we do NOT want higher taxes. South Africans are already overtaxed. Hard work is routinely met with punitive taxes.
4. On 29 May 2024 we should state our preference clearly: South Africans want private healthcare and medical aid and retain choice of medical practitioner and choice of hospital.
5. Private healthcare works, state healthcare does not. It is priceless to find something that works in South Africa. Why not expand what works?
6. Cost of state healthcare has been astronomical over 30 years, yet capacity for effective clinical healthcare is rapidly declining at state hospitals.Why? Because of the shortage of doctors, neglected diagnostic equipment and substandard facilities at state hospitals. Why? Because the budgets were looted. The money is gone.
7. Most South Africans have first hand knowledge of poor state healthcare.
8. On 29 May 2024 you have a choice to vote for more state healthcare (ANC, EFF, DA, MK, Freedom Front, Inkata and other miscellaneous crack pots)
or
9. You can vote for the Free Democrats of South Africa and PRIVATE HEALTHCARE.
10. Look for the pink logo on the two national ballots and vote for private healthcare and medical aid.
11. We cannot trust the state with our health.
12. Our plan for private healthcare includes one comprehensive medical aid, from birth to death, for every citizen, funded by a Health Insurance Fund.
13. This health insurance fund is for its part funded by existing sin taxes (tobacco, alcohol, gambling, sugar taxes), carbon taxes and a portion of existing VAT.
14. No additional or higher tax is proposed.
15. Under our plan everybody pays for healthcare, but the big spenders, boozers, smokers, gamblers, binge eaters and polluters pay more.
16. Nothing is for free. Our plan provides for full upfront funding of your visit to your doctor.
17. All hospitals and clinics should acquire the necessary IT systems to also claim from medical aid.
18. Medical aids should be administered by the private medical aid industry.
19. Hospitals and clinics should be operated and managed by private healthcare companies.
20. The state should be kicked out of managing and operating healthcare facilities, but the state, in this case Parliament, exercises control over the Health Insurance Fund.
21. Medical aids are refunded (for the expenses incurred by members) from the Health Insurance Fund.
22. Parliament exercises direct oversight and set the fees of doctors, surgeons, physiotherapists, occupational therapists, dentists, optometrists, psychologists etcetera.
23. This plan means an end to the profusion of useless Mickey Mouse medical aid plans on the market as our plan provides for one comprehensive medical aid for all.
24. Our plan means the end of apartheid in healthcare, apartheid kept in place by the ANC for 30 years.
25. The election of 29 May 2024 is now more than ever before an election about your health.
26. Where will the elderly go for healthcare once NHI has been implemented and the juicy state health budgets have again been looted? State healthcare is the only option for many senior citizens, unless the elderly (like all other South Africans) are put in possession of a tax funded medical aid.
27. Your vote on 29 May 2024 is a vote for your own health. Look after it. Nurture it for all your tomorrows. Vote for it, for nothing is more important than your health.
28. But it is also a vote for your mother and your father and your grandfather and your grandmother because senior citizens need quality healthcare more than most.
